In view of our disappointment with the political and spiritual leadership of the Religious Zionist public, we, young men and women, among the sons and daughters of the Religious Zionist movement, have decided to issue publicly the following statement:

The Religious Zionist movement has been in a profound inner crisis for quite some time. All its religious thought and most of its agenda revolves around one axis only- the struggle for the territories of Judea, Samarea, and Gaza. It is on the altar of this struggle that the movement is sacrificing what should have been its essence and uniqueness: an effort to live a life of Torah in the reality of the state of the Jewish people.

The fact that the state of Israel is ruling over more than 3 million people against their will, while denying them their basic rights, creates severe moral problems. This fact also has prevented the state, for over three decades, from confronting its basic problems: the character of the Jewish people in their land, the relations between religion and the state, the education of the young generation, the growing social gaps, and more.

All these issues have, unfortunately, disappeared from the Religious Zionist leadership and its rabbis, who are the standard-bearers of settlement in the Occupied Territories and who are captives of a pseudo-religious attitude that views settling the Territories as the ultimate goal.. Few are the religious scholars in this community that have the courage to face reality, and their voice is barely heard. In the absence of a Religious-Zionist leadership that is worthy and influential, we have no choice but to take the initiative into our hands:
· We hereby call upon the Religious Zionist public to recognize the necessity of relinquishing our rule over the Occupied Territories and to start investing its effort in dealing with the other urgent problems on the agenda of the state of Israel in general, and the religious public in particular.
· We hereby call every Jewish Religious Zionist, who is touched by our words, who desires the renewal of the authentic spirit of Religious Zionism, who is anxious for the future of the Judaism of Torah and Mitzvot, who holds dear the future of the State of Israel and the Jewish people - to join us in a shared effort for the reshaping of Religious Zionism.
